About Arcophos

Arcophos builds the post-training layer for healthcare AI. We turn real clinical workflows into verifiable RL environments, with clinician-audited reward signals and episode-level evaluations, and use them to post-train models that enterprises and health systems can actually trust in rigorous, real-world care settings.

About the Role

As Beneficial Deployments Lead at Arcophos, you'll bring care, and the AI that strengthens it, to places with too few doctors and nurses. We build hospitals and clinics, and we operate multiple of them. They are saving lives today, and you'll lead our international deployments, opening new sites around the world. You'll work where healthcare AI meets the bedside: standing up the clinical, technical, and data systems each site runs on, then deploying the software and AI that let a small clinical team see more patients, catch what matters sooner, and follow every patient through to an outcome.

You'll move seamlessly between the ward and the codebase: opening sites, deploying clinical AI and evaluating it with the clinicians who use it, and setting the standard for what beneficial deployment means in practice. This work saves lives, and care comes first: every system you deploy is judged by what it does for patients, not by how it looks in a demo. As a founding member, your mandate goes beyond any single site. You'll shape where Arcophos builds next, the first deployment hires, and the company itself. You'll have significant ownership, work directly with the founders, and split your time between San Francisco and the sites you open worldwide.

What You'll Do

  • Build and open hospitals and clinics globally, from site selection, partnerships, and local health-authority approvals to the first patient seen
  • Stand up each site's technical backbone: electronic health records, devices, lab and pharmacy systems, and infrastructure that survives power and network outages, so every step of a visit, from healthcare administration to patient follow-up, keeps working
  • Deploy applied AI where it measurably improves care, such as triage, multilingual documentation and translation, clinical decision support, and patient follow-up, with every system tested alongside clinicians before it reaches a patient and monitored once it does
  • Bring software and AI into nonprofit organizations, hospitals, and medical facilities beyond our own sites, fitting each tool to the way their staff already work
  • Set up every site as a Clinical Deployment Environment [CDE]: build the systems that capture each visit as one dated episode and separate identifying information inside the clinic, before anything leaves for research
  • Measure what matters to patients (who was reached, how quickly care arrived, whether follow-up happened, and what the outcome was), and use those results to decide what we build and study next
  • Turn each deployment into playbooks, integrations, and training for clinical staff that the next site starts from and partner institutions can keep running without us
  • Help build Arcophos itself: global deployment roadmap, recruiting and training local teams, culture, and how we share our work

Requirements

  • Deep experience building and deploying software and applied AI systems, ideally in healthcare: LLM-based tools, agents, speech recognition, or clinical decision support
  • Demonstrated deployments: software or AI you've put into real use in hospitals, medical facilities, nonprofits, or public health programs, ideally in more than one country
  • Strong proficiency in software engineering: production code, systems integration, and both cloud and on-site infrastructure
  • Comfort with clinical systems and health data: EHRs, interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7), lab and pharmacy workflows, and patient privacy and de-identification
  • Ability to run the full loop on site with clinicians: clinical need → deployment → measured outcome → better care
  • Founding-member disposition: high agency, comfort with ambiguity, and willingness to travel internationally and spend long stretches on site, configuring a hospital's network one week and walking its wards the next

Nice to have

  • Clinical, nursing, or public health training, or experience running global health programs
  • Experience building or opening healthcare facilities: construction, procurement, supply chains, licensing, and regulatory approvals
  • Familiarity with health information systems used in many countries, such as OpenMRS and DHIS2
  • Languages beyond English, and experience living or working internationally

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base: $200,000-$350,000+
  • Significant founding equity
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Free daily meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner)
  • Free gym membership
  • Unlimited book budget (help us build our library)
  • $10,000+ housing stipend
